Diana Vickers, the X Factor starlet and resident of Accrington, East Lancashire, recorded her first single for a charity house based in her local town. She joined forces with the other finalists of the hit show X Factor to cover of the 1993 hit track Hero by American diva Mariah Carey.
The charity Help For Heroes, backed by the Army Benevolent Fund, was set up to help the wounded. The Army Benevolent Fund works for the soldiers and other servicemen and women.
The 17 yr old Westholme pupil, Diana, was reported to be excited about this new opportunity. The charity plans to split the proceeds with the British Legion Poppy Fund.
Help For Heroes founder Bryn Parry appreciated the effort from the participants and said that: “Everyone is thrilled to hear that The X Factor is supporting our boys and girls.”

Diana’s supporters and the fans of the show will be able to hear the track performed live for the first time on October 25 on the show.
The single though will hit the shop shelves 2 days later on October 27, two weeks before Remembrance Sunday.
Diana’s family lives in Blackburn and she made the final of the X factor from 150,000 hopefuls and she was immensely praised for her first live performance of a unique version of U2’s “With or Without You” last week.
