Jackson hit reenters charts because of Diana Vickers   no comments

Diana Vickers, the girl from Accrington, Blackburn has set a new event in motion as a 1988 hit song has stormed back into the charts.

Diana sang the Michael Jackson 1988 hit “Man in the Mirror” barefooted on October 18 as a part of the Michael Jackson themed night. The song from the album Bad was the fourth consecutive number one hit in 1988, three years before the East Lancashire girl Diana was born.

The song has re-entered the charts with a flurry of downloads on internet music sites with the Westholme School pupil’s mesmerizing performance. The song has entered the charts at 55.
The judges had immensely appreciated her performance and collectively commented on the portrayal of the song in her own unique way.

Ann Vickers, Diana’s mother was extremely happy at the news. “enjoyed her singing her own version of the song, I thought it was great. Diana is a Michael Jackson fan definitely, and I love all of his records.” She also said that though the song was not her type, Diana had made an extremely beautiful version of the song.
None of the other Michael Jackson songs sung by Diana’s rival contestants re-entered the charts.

Ann also said, “She loves the Beatles as well as Michael Jackson.”
Diana is the 7/4 favourite with bookies after two of the judges commenting that she was the contestant to beat following three of the most captivating performances on the show.
