Diana Vickers, the girl from Blackburn, is presently one of the finalists of the hit show X Factor. She has claimed the most number of online supporter stakes this year.
If the fan sites are to be anything to go by, then Diana is surely to become the champion of the hit show. This comes from the fact that she has more than 97,000 fans signed up on groups on social networking website, Facebook. The amount is more than double her nearest competitor.
A group called ‘Diana Vickers to win X Factor 2008’, as well as dozens of smaller fan groups had 81,025 yesterday with another 12,397 today in her dedicated fan page.
Her odds were slashed from 5/1 to 11/4 after her magical performance of the Michael Jackson hit “Man in the Mirror”. She is the bookies’ favorite after judges Simon and Louis said that she was the one to beat.
Laura White from Bolton is the second highest ranked singer in the competition with more than 41,000 fan group member and the bookies placing her in the second spot with odds of 7/2. Alexandra Burke is placed third.
“I didn’t realise there were so many people signed up as her fans. It’s absolutely brilliant. I’m very, very proud”, Diana’s dad Eddie Vickers said.
“How good is that? It’s incredible. We’ve just got to see what happens this weekend.” Mother Ann added
Diana is slated to sing a Blondie track this week at the show as the theme will be of disco songs.
