In a statement made to the press by her family, Diana Vickers, the ITV contest hopeful is being described to be recovering from her throat infection and is presently in a much better condition. The 17 year old student from Westholme School, who is a favorite in the show suffered from a sever case of laryngitis during the last week’s episode and had to pull out of it missing a rare opportunity for the contestant to meet her icon Mariah Carey and to perform with her.

Although, it was an earnest wish of Vickers to take part in the episode, however her doctors from the Harley Street advised her against it as it could prove to be a permanent damage to her throat putting her entire singing career at a risk. According to her father, Mr. Eddie Vickers, her daughter was planning to perform “Always be my baby” in the Mariah Carey special episode.

Despite all the disappointment, Diana as well as her family members and well wishers are looking forward to the coming weeks’ episodes and everyone is hopeful about her performances. Though Vickers is certainly feeling a lot better, and has already had a rest for three days now, she still can’t sing and needs to rest her voice more till the doctors give her a go ahead after a check up. Although, she has been excused for pulling out of the last episode, she must find her voice and perform in the next one in order to make it to the next level.
