Vickers gives a homecoming surprise no comments
In a curious turn of events which proved to be a real pleasant surprise for the residents of East Lancashire, Diana Vickers flew to her home town for a short visit the day before. After spending what she call some quality time with her mother at their Accrington home, the 17 year old apparently decided to go for a down the memory lane tour by utilizing the time at her school and work place namely the Westholme school and the Marks and Spencer respectively dropping in to get a glimpse of her teachers, friends and colleagues.
The entire visit was of course filmed by the crew of the ITV contest and apparently it will come up soon on one of their upcoming episodes. However, nobody got a chance to interview her, a matter which was explained by the officials citing the reasons of Vickers’ need to give her throat a rest which turned out in a real bad shape last week forcing her to pull out of the episode.
From a footage released yesterday, it becomes evident that Vickers unable to resist the temptation of a bonfire celebration accompanied with fireworks took part in an event that ran through the night last Wednesday and resulted in a major throat problem for the ITV contest favorite. She was diagnosed with a case of laryngitis by specialist doctors from Harley Street and it barred her from taking part in the Saturday episode where the contestants were supposed to perform with pop diva Mariah Carey at the risk of permanent damage to her throat and her singing career. There was enough evidence reflected in the bitter disappointment in her voice that Diana Vickers was feeling very depressed and frustrated about not being able to meet and perform with Mariah Carey, something she has been looking forward for days, though she is equally optimistic about the coming Saturday’s performance. She is waiting for a medical green signal which she will get only after another visit to her doctors on Friday. Her short visit to her home town turned out to be quite a crowd pulling event and ended in a lot of good wishes for Vickers.
